Chalfonts Beekeepers’ are pleased to announce that Deborah Delaney has agreed to give her talk 'Bee-utiful' for our September Monthly meeting on Tuesday 22nd at 7.30pm. We have taken advantage of the lockdown situation to invite a speaker from the US, and will be using the GoToMeeting system to see and hear Deborah and her presentation.

She teaches Insects and Society, Apiculture, Pollination Ecology, Aquatic Entomology and Bridging Art and Science: Environmental Communication.

She has over 30 years of experience working with pollinators, specifically honey bees and maintains between 50-100 colonies throughout Delaware, Pennsylvania and Maryland, USA

Her research program has four main focal areas

1. Genetic identity and diversity of US honey bees.

2. Temporal stability of pollinator populations.

3. Best management solutions for creating sustainable managed pollinator populations.

4. Pollinator nutrition and forage mapping.
