Local Honey For Sale
The Chalfonts Beekeepers attend the local village fetes throughout the year to educate the public about the importance of pollinators and the work of the honeybee.
Also on sale will be local honey produced by the members and offered to the public for sale. The honey has not been pasteurised and comes straight from the hive.
Honey is often runny and can vary in colour from very pale to dark brown and this depends on what flowers the bees have visited to collect nectar. Honey can also be granulated and this depends on the ratio of glucose : fructose sugars in the honey. High glucose content, such as from oil seed rape flowers, means that the honey sets quickly; high fructose content, such as from blackberry flowers, means that the honey sets very slowly over a period of years.
If you would like to buy honey at other times directly from the beekeeper please fill in the contact form and we'll put you in touch with a local beekeeper.
